Creating Platforms with Guardrails
Hello Protocols, Packets, and Programs,
I like to mark the birthday of Windows NT, released on July 27, 1993.
Not out of some love for technology, but out of appsec’s love for making technology do strange and unexpected things.
NT required 12MB of RAM and 90MB of free disk space – about the size of a modern minimal Linux distro or the amount of packages from a fresh npm install.
But there are still a lot of weird and surprising things you can do in such a small footprint.
